Schedule a Wedding
Marriage was instituted by God Himself, so every wedding is a sacred occasion. Planning your wedding at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church should begin one year prior to the time you plan to be married. Following this guide will help in your planning.
Counseling- Pre-martial counseling is required for couples who wish to have their service at Mt. Pleasant. Counseling consists of 4 sessions and must be scheduled before a wedding date is set. The sessions are led by a masters level therapist, during this time a date for your service will be scheduled on the church calendar. This is the one step that many couples dread at first but most enjoy after coming to the first session. Reference are avaialble from other couples who have successfully went through the pre-martial counseing here at Mt. Pleasant.
The Wedding Rehearsal- One day prior to your service the church will be available for your wedding party to rehearse. The minister will not be present at rehearsal. There will be a wedding coordinator from Mt. Pleasant who will be present and walk the wedding party through the process of the ceremony.
Wedding Decorations- It is the responsibility of the bride and groom to arrange for the setup and cleanup of all decorations. The church building needs to be left in the same condition it was before the service. No fasteners are to be used that might mar the furnishings or walls of the church. If any furniture on the church platform needs to be moved please inform the counselor during the pre-marital sessions.
The Marriage License-
A marriage license must be obtained from the clerk of the court and submitted to the officiating minister two weeks prior to the ceremony.
Wedding Reception- The church fellowship hall may also be rented for your wedding reception. No alcohol or smoking are permitted. The fellowship hall and kitchen are to be completely cleaned and left in the same condition it was in before the reception.
Church Property- Please remember that the church sanctuary, fellowship hall, and church grounds are designated as a place of worship. Therefore it is your responsibility to inform your wedding party and guests that it should be treated as such. Smoking and alcohol will not be permitted on the grounds.
Cost- This is a break down of the cost for using the building and services provided by the counselor and minister. If you will be using the church sound system there is an additional $40.00 fee for the sound tech.
- Use of Church building- $100.00 deposit
- $250.00 Rental fee for non members
- Counseling- $150.00
- Officiating Minister-$50.00
