Who We Are

Mt. Pleasant Christian Church was founded in 1847 by John Cooter and Alfred Houston along with a small group of neighbors meeting in their homes. In 1849 the first building was constructed to hold services in. In 1880 a larger building was constructed to allow for growth.

Through the years several additions were build on to the building to allow for growth.

In 2006 it was evident that more room was needed to accommodate the growth of the church. After looking at several options the church decided to build a whole new facility on the same property where the old church and cemetery are located. In the fall of 2007 we broke ground for the new church.

Our first service in our new building was held July of 2008. Since moving we have seen many additions to the church and it is our prayer that this ministry continues until the Lord returns.
